At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, ladies were required to change their headgear several times during the day, depending on the situation. A bust by sculptor Emilio Fiaschi seems to show a new kind of this accessory, designed to protect the face when driving a car. He also created Bust as an example of his precise work with fabric carved in stone, but he also refers to contemporary fashion trends and social conventions.
