Two full-figure portraits of children show the daughters of Mednyánszky’s sister Miri Czóbelová, Marianna and Margita. They were made during his stay in Strážky by the painter Ferdinand Katona, whom Mednyánszky took under his wing as an impoverished Jewish painter. He taught him to paint and also saw that he had the use of artist’s studios.
