Lehocká’s drawings, objects, and installations defy any effort at analysis, and are thus (in a way rare for our country) the kind of art that negates attempts to anchor it in some one style or tradition.

It might be said that Lehocká has for several decades consistently developed her artistic program, or rather that her program is in fact a single work spread through time and space, woven, layered, or branched, associatively and intuitively, by the artist.

The slowness of her objects’ genesis, the intuitiveness of contemplating and organicness of shapes, could beguile us to associations with feminism, or an archetypal female perceiving and creation of the world, but none of these defines Lehocká. As a result, her main characteristic is the shaping, filling, or enlivening of the space her works (by and large spatial installations) inhabit.
