Bang! Bang?! Thus could be titled an exhibition that displays the works of artists from the late 1960s to the present day as represented in the collections of the Slovak National Gallery.
The original concept of the exhibition was the development of art during the past fifty years, both in Slovakia and in the adjacent lands, with emphasis on the period between the 1980s and the first decade of the new millennium.
However, the SNG's collection was not compiled in such a systematic way – it has gaps and lacunae that make it impossible to cover Slovak art of the last epoch in all its complexity, while international art, at least in relation to neighbouring countries, features only sporadically.
So, what is to be done about it? Bang! Bang?! We'll handle it somehow.
