“Wilderness to me is an already non-existing space, or a space very, very far. It evokes in me a synonym of unavailability, inaccessible space. And there are very few of such spaces in total; if at all. I search for ..., I seek ... pilgrimage; moving is good, good for obtaining a perspective, a distance from everyday things... that is when I am offline. It is an escape from an overload of virtual information; an escape from the feeling that ‘I have no time’. When I go for a walk into nature I release Bony (our dog) from his ‘cage’, and so do I my mind…

Through my paintings I would like to pass on the joy of turquoise colour (of all colours). I wish to communicate the feelings from the world before the Internet (mediate the weight of one’s own body; the limitations that can occur at walking)… I mean at walking in the countryside. Furthermore, to mediate the feeling of responsibility of an individual towards nature (landscape); which is really rapidly disappearing. The paradox of the entire captured landscape of mine is the source I draw from. I depict sections from a biographic film (that means a technological achievement of the modern era) talking about P. Gauguin and his wanders on Tahiti (2018). It is certainly also about my personal desire to penetrate via the film into mysteries of distant countries through very simple, even naïve copying of the particular film slides. The first impulse why this film completely thrilled me was the clearly present light. To me, light and eye are fundamental apparatuses for ability to perceive colour sensations. I am fascinated by light.” E. M
