Studio (Paris Self Portrait, Doube Portrait)

The double portrait portrays the painter in semi-profile, with a hint of Parisian roofs in the background. With his self-assured, almost defiant gaze and the gesture of his powerful hand, it is as if he were defending his vision of modern painting. Standing behind him, obscured, is an unknown woman, who is the painter’s visual support and at the same time, thanks to similar facial features, in a sense his double.
