Portfólio I.

This pair of chamber paintings by Marko Blažo (1972 – 2021) comes from his early period; from the times when he used to glue aviation marks on wings of butterflies and turn paper houses into floors. An open notebook with regularly arranged slides; “darkness” in the slides. The situation can be read in many ways – as conspiracy eclipse of reality; or as unwillingness to return to the past, as deleting of memories.

The slides are thus not recordings and mediators of reality (which we may not remember any more), i.e. a certain memory media. A “Blind” slide is rather an expression of resignation over the possibility of mediation, of objective grasping of reality.
